Results from broiler feeding trials
The effect of ProgutTM on broiler performance and
gut health has been tested in several trials in different countries. The average results from nine trials are presented
in the figure below. In general, the final weights of the birds have been better and mortality lower with trial feeds
containing ProgutTM. Feed conversion ratios have also tended to improve compared with control groups but not
as much as weight. In most of the trials control feeds contained coccidiostats but no antibiotics. Three of the trials,
Agrifood Research Centre in Finland 2002, Lithuanian Veterinary Academy 2003 and Research Centre Sigra, Latvia in 2003
are presented in the coming trials below.
